Wellington turned on a stunner yesterday for round 3 of the PNP mtb series in Mt Victoria, Wellington. This event attracted lots of riders, lots of mud and there was lots of chocolate waiting at the finish line! Marco and the other PNP supporters had set out a great course that explored the new track changes on Mt Vic. The basis of this course will be simulated next year at the National Championships (25-28th February), so this PNP race was a great opportunity to check out the changes. Who ever said this sums up life perfect.
On Saturday it was decided that we (Dad, Mum, Trevor, Jill, Paul and I) would mission it out to spend the night in a hut, in the Tararuas. With the confidence of knowing this hut had a fire spot, it sounded like a fun adventure. The weather forecast was for a southerly storm to hit on Sunday but this factor obviously didn’t matter to those who planned the trip “Just make sure you pack your rain coat, but it shouldn’t be too bad” – Dad has some great optimistic ideas sometimes.
