Race day

It’s done. Finished. All over in 1hr 38min. I get one opportunity each year to race against the world’s best riders. There were 35 riders on the start list for yesterday’s world championship race, making a small yet strong field. Reasonable start 20th on first lap. Just behind michelle.four laps. Couple of girls off front. All fairly close

Halfway lap two after the hammerhead, field spread. Swed from pol, frechy out in front. Group behind then sam in next lot just behind michelle. Dirty pom pushed sam off bike. but all good

Ok have moved down to tec zone.to get a different view and tthrow rocks at da pom. Two girls in front, stragglers then bunch, then a couple then michelle gap then sam, just passed russain. Dirty pom blown, or stonned by the angry sideline mob

End of lap three sam catching michelle both racing well. Dirty pom now in confession may be forgiven

Ok half lap to go. Pol is cleared out to a near certain. Unless she meets the pom. Ok sam and michelle close to each other.

Tomorrow the under 19 girls are racing at 10:30am and my Under23 race is at 2pm. Unfortunately Monique Avery will no longer be competing as she broke her elbow earlier this morning, practicing the ‘hammer head’. Continue reading ‘Tuesday 1st September’
