After a few days of recovery around Nelson it was off down south to Coronet Peak for an XC race on the 6th of January. It was all sunshine and tan lines, not the same as back here in Wellington where you get greeted with full force winds and rain!!?? Its sooooo easy to train when the weather is like that.
It was my first mtb race as pro-elite, this meant I got to race against at least three times more riders than last season… making it at least three times harder!!!! Them roadies like them skin-suits even more than XC riders (or those closet DH’s that bring them out at the big bike races – you know you love it!!!)… Plus roadies seem to love to put the hammer down now and then, just to test everybody’s legs, on off on off – come on make up your mind…
