Round four of the BNZ XC series in Auckland was such a buzz. The course was shaped in a figure eight with half of it in tree-rooted forest. The bumpy terrain was best accomplished through smooth consistent riding, however it never felt smooth. The second exposed half had a good climb in it followed by a loose downhill section. It was a nice hilly course though so it suited me.
Round three of the national MTB series was in Rotorua last weekend. It was the first sunny race to date so it was great to ride on a dry track (for a change)! The course was awesome, flowing single track and fun technical sections. The course was rolling and there were no major sections for recovery, which made for a tough race.
